Description
"BRENNE" has the subtitle: 'mantra for piano and violin'. A mantra is a power word or repetitive spell with the intention to tune one's inner being. The piece is thus intended as a kind of instrumental, musical mantra. It is inspired by a German text of J.A.Schneiderfranken ( Bô Yin Râ ). It starts with the words:
"Brenne-Geist!-Brenne" (Burn-Spirit!-Burn). This is expressed in the piano part in a thrice repeated short hymn-like melody, which is answered three times varied by the violin. The same hymn-like melody also occurs in LEYS III for flute, violin and guitar.
