Two pieces of polyphonic style.
The Coral has a behaved character that fits the style of polyphonic vocal motet.
The melody of each instrumental voice is here thought quite vocal. However, you can also recognizes recurring motifs in the voices, for example, measure 1/2 in Tenor trb 3 and Bas trb, imitated in size 3/4 in Tenor trb 1 and 2.
These motifs appear sometimes to go together, but also imitated by itself.
The Madrigal is characterized by the rhythmic motif - with eighth notes in bar 1, which is imitated across all instrumental.
