Violin Concerto KAIROS exists of three movements: I Kairos, II Panta rhei and III Ananke, each of which can be performed as concert piece itself, but also all three together as the complete concert. Panta rhei (Gr., Herakleitos ± 500 b.C.) means: earthly reality is like a flowing river: always moving and renewing itself. Always different every moment, and yet the same river. Datti Schneiderfranken says that Panta rhei can be seen as 'nature becoming'. Likewise the music - after the multi-colored Introduction with two themes, a new melody starts with a kind of Passacaglia, like a waterfall that gets bigger and bigger, and in which all melodies tumble over each other. But moving through many tonalities, it ends with an ecstatic violin, above a gamelan orchestra structure, in d minor.
