Hafiz (c.1325-1390) was a beloved Persian poet and mystic in the Sufi tradition. Admired by Goethe, Emerson, Garcia Lorca, among others.
And Johannes Brahms set his text to music.

while stitching themselves together into the Great Circle inside of
