Description
The term entelechy refers to the spirit which animates matter and evolves into living being, which in turn aspires to its lofty goal - consciousness of itself in the living spirit. Here I thought of 'Sic a Deo est descensus...' (G. Bruno - see No.2 of my "Tres Sententiae for SATB"): "In this way one can descend from God through the world to the living being. But also one can ascend from being alive through the world to God." Here I also thought of 'True prayer brings about the 'heavenly ladder', rising from the inner being of man up to the innermost will of primordial being.' (Bô Yin Râ, "On Prayer"- see: www.bo-yin-ra-the-luminary.com).
Musically I try to express this in a kind of Perpetuum mobile. NB The organist may repeat the piece as he pleases, and is completely free in his registration choices.
