Description
Last Pentecost was the stimulus for this short but powerful "Partita Veni Veni" with 7 variations. On the one hand, the inspiration comes from the old plainsong hymn, which functions as a cantus firmus, in transcription and transformation. On the other hand, from Bach's chorale preludes BWV 631a and BWV 667, to the melody Luther's German translation, which are among my favorite pieces. As a personal note, this Pentecostal hymn is, say, a homage to and invocation to the eternal spirit, "from which all existence proceeds, and from which all existence receives life, as long as it continues to exist each time in its own form. (JA Schneiderfranken)" In that spirit I offer the piece as a free download. (NB The midi audio is only to give an impression.)
